From the Battlefields of Malta to the fight against Cancer…

battleThe Great Siege of Malta fundraiser was held again this year at Condon and Associates in Parramatta. On the 12th October the NSW Priory banded together in aid of the new Cancer Care centre at Blacktown Hospital. Raising in excess of $7,500 the order successfully brought together Community leaders including the Hon. Nathan Rees former Premier of NSW and Member for Toongabbie, Member for Parramatta Dr Geoffrey Lee, Chief Executive of Western Sydney Local Health District Mr Danny O’ Conner and Professor Peter Zelas of Blacktown Hospital. The night was also proudly supported by Condon and Associates providing much more than just the venue, Caterez Caterers who did and outstanding job and Kids West, showing once more the benefits of charitable organisations working together.

The night MC’ d by Chevalier Trevor Oldfield AM (KidsWest CEO), included a re-enactment of the Siege of Malta with Narrator- Chevalier Vice Prior Schon Condon, Maltese Witness Convential Baliff Grand Hospitaller Fred Maestrelli and Ottoman Witness Chevalier Phillip McKenzie and also included an exhibition of weapons and Armour used during the great battle. Through the fundraising team and wonderful support of the Priory, we have not only raised much needed funds but we have built many new relationships, continuing the good work the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem is so proud of.
